Education for a Changing Climate, a conference sponsored by Orion magazine and Unity College, brought together educators and communicators from around the country. Small groups chose an environmental challenge and determined how to communicate it. Our group discussed how food choices affect climate change. Being disconnected from the source of our food was identified as a problem, and we chose storytelling as both our medium and our solution. In these 5 interviews, local residents tell stories about their work with food and their various relationships to the source of food. We interviewed a homemaker, farmers, restaurant owner, and food service director; all are, of course, educators.

In this interview, Linda Hartkopf–who runs Hart2Hart Farm with her husband in Albion, Maine–tells us about their organic dairy, the summer farmcamp she offers each year, and her work with animals. Our interview takes place during a very active camp session.
