On Monday, December 18, 2023 wind gust registering  over 75 mph struck our farm. First, it was the horse barn that was flipped over and resting in the middle of our driveway. Thankful the horse were not injured but were running loose in the paddock. As we tried to halter them and bring them to safety, my son Olin and I looked towards the dry cow barn. A loud roar of wind came up and like a tornado hit our barn and sent metal, boards and debris into the air.

When it was over we lost 3/4 of our barn, the holding area for the cows where we milk and the roof to our milk house and milking parlor. In 20 minutes our lives were changed!

WABI, our local TV station came down from Bangor to survey the damage and to interview us. The full story is at this link.

As of December 29, all 60 of the milking herd has left the farm and are safely house at five organic farms. it is our hope to bring everyone home by April and to have a new milking facility by late summer.

Thankfully nobody was injured. We are grateful for the termendous support from family, friends and the community for their prayers, their physical support as well as financial. It is through this support we will be able to come back stronger than before.
